Barclay Memorial Park, located in Tainan’s East District across from the Cultural Center, is named in honor of British missionary Thomas Barclay.
Once neglected due to land disputes and illegal dumping, the area was revived through community efforts and officially opened as a park in 2003. Spanning 9.1 hectares, it features Dream Lake, walking trails, an ecological pond, and an environmental education center. Seasonal plantings offer year-round beauty, especially the vibrant bald cypress in autumn and winter.
